John Watterson says the Island is bucking the downward trend seen in newspaper sales elsewhere
A long-serving journalist at Isle of Man Newspapers believes the Island will continue to have print media for a long time yet, despite an increasing presence of digital media elsewhere.
Sports Editor John Watterson is retiring after more than 50 years in the industry, having started as a printer with the old Examiner Group when he was 15.
He says the Isle of Man has bucked the downward trend for newspapers seen in the UK.
While he expects online news will eventually replace the newspapers here as well, John thinks that's still a long way in the future:
