Manx Labour Party concern
The Manx Labour Party is calling on the Department of Health to urgently review the decision to withdraw funding for the Meals on Wheels service operated by Age Concern Isle of Man.
It was announced yesterday the £150,000 the charity receives is to end in early January.
Manx Labour Party leader David Cretney says it's a matter of real concern and lacks compassion:-
An urgent question on the topic has been tabled for Tuesday's House of Keys sitting.
Onchan MHK Rob Callister is to ask Health Minister Kate Beecroft "If she would make a statement on her Department's decision to end its contract with Age Concern, which supports the delivery of the Meals on Wheels service?"
