Model must adapt says minister
The core principles of the NHS will be protected as a review into health and social care continues.
That's according to the minister, David Ashford.
'Every aspect' of the current system - including staffing, management, taxation, and who should front the cost of services - is to be considered.
Tynwald last week backed a series of pledges about universal healthcare in the future, but members would not support ruling out privatising services.
Mr Ashford believes as the Island's population and demands change, the model must adapt.
"We think it's inhumane the way he was treated."
