Douglas Council has appointed a new Town Clerk and Chief Executive following the retirement of David King.
Kathleen Rice will take up her duties in a designate capacity on March 25 next year and will then continue as the head of the Council's Paid Services once Mr King leaves on April 13.
Miss Rice is currently the head of legal service and monitoring officer at Coventry City Council and prior to that was the head of legal services at Dorset County Council.
She has 20 years experience working as a solicitor, as well as spending more than two decades working within local government.
