
After a fatal road accident, new safety measures on the A1 at Greeba are planned.
Director of Highways Richard Pearson has confirmed a section of the road had already been identified as ‘potentially dangerous’ before a crash which claimed the life of Peel man Alex Williamson.
The collision, in March last year, outside the Hawthorn pub, took place in a derestricted zone where overtaking is permitted.
Last week, the coroner presiding over Mr Williamson’s inquest called for overtaking restrictions to be extended.
Mr Pearson said proposals had already been considered before the tragedy:
