
A road in the north of the Island had to be closed today (Mon) while firefighters dealt with a large hedge fire.
It had been caused by a traffic accident involving just one car.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported but due to the large amount of smoke from the fire, the road between Sandygate Crossroads and the Sartfield junction with the Jurby Coast Road was closed while firefighters deal with the incident.
Officers say this was for the safety of the crew working in the road.
