
The Isle of Man's Road Safety Manager is urging motorists to take notice of cyclists.
Gordon Edwards says a lot of work is done with children to teach them how to ride on the roads safely.
He says this cycle proficiency programme is vital because people on bikes are so vulnerable.
However, Mr Edwards (pictured) says on a cycle training exercise last week, it was a car driver who demonstrated complete ignorance about basic road safety (audio file attached):
