Roads are open again around Castletown after what was described as a hazardous material incident earlier today (Tues)
Fire crews in say they have now isolated the products involved in a chemical leak and made the area safe.
Police evacuated some properties as emergency services dealt with the spillage at the Station Garage on Victoria Road and others were advised to stay indoors.
Officers are thanking people for their patience and say unfortunately this type of incident requires a measured approach and can't be rushed.
The exact nature of the chemical concerned hasn't been made public at this stage.
