Coastal overtopping expected in exposed areas
A number of roads across the Island are to be shut overnight due to predicted coastal overtopping and flooding.
From midnight no vehicles will be allowed:
- Along the length of Castletown Promenade - from its junction with Shore Road to its junction with King Williams College
- Along the length of Shore Road in Port St Mary - from its junction at the bottom of Fishers Hill to its junction with Castletown Road/Beach Road
- On West Quay, Market Place, East Street, Christian Street, West Street and Derby Road in Ramsey
- Along the length of Queens Promenade, Ramsey, from its junction with Dale Street to its junction with Queens Drive East.
- Along the length of Harris, Central and Queens Promenades in Douglas, from the junction with Summerhill Road to the junction with Church Road Marina.
- Along the entire length of Laxey promenade.
They'll all be closed until 4am on Thursday (22 August).
Emergency access will be maintained throughout the period of the closure.
