MHK Chris Robertshaw says party politics isn't the answer
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw says party politics is not the only alternative to the Island's current political system.
He was responding to suggestions his opposition to the move meant he was in favour of the status quo.
At present, Mr Robertshaw believes government is 'too big, clunky, bureaucratic and top heavy' - but believes a party political system would do nothing to change that.
The former Policy and Reform minister who was appointed with a brief to streamline government, resigned in February this year saying he was unhappy with the pace and rate of reform.
He says the government should consider several far-reaching changes:

Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
MHK to seek re-election in Arbory, Castletown and Malew
