
Campaigners opposed to plans to shut the Island's government operated nurseries and pre-schools have been outside government buildings all day.
Earlier, a petition of over three thousand signatures gathered by a Facebook protest group was presented to Chief Minister Allan Bell.
During the debate following Mr Teare's budget speech, Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw rounded on Isle of Man Newspapers' decision to back the campaigners with a front page editorial in today's Examiner.
He said it was jumping on a bandwagon and cheap journalism:
