The previously untold story of Manx women in the Great War will be revealed this week.
Curator of Social History at the Manx Museum Matthew Richardson will give a free presentation on the subject on Friday.
It's part of the museum's plans to host a major exhibition to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One in 2014.
Mr Richardson says we know quite a lot about the men who went to fight, but relatively little about the women who kept things going at home.
He says it's been a difficult project because so much of what he wanted to know is now beyond human memory.
The talk is at the museum at 11am this Friday. It's free of charges but donations can be made to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
