Police to issue updates throughout afternoon
Emergency services are continuing to deal with a collision in the north of the Island involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) which had rolled over, leaving the occupant trapped inside.
Police have confirmed the road between the Sulby Glen Hotel to Sulby Bridge is expected to remain shut until 2pm.
Westbound, the road is closed at the Ginger Hall.
Any large vehicles heading to Ramsey from Sulby are being given access to the St Judes Road, whilst all other traffic is being diverted through Sulby Claddaghs for Ramsey.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed it used 'specialist cutting equipment to safely release the casualty from the vehicle'.
Four fire appliances, the duty officer, brigade officer, ambulance service and police were all in attendance.
Officers say on arrival, the Incident Commander quickly assessed the situation and tasked a team with carrying out the extrication.
Once extricated, the casualty was handed into the care of the ambulance service.
Fire crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour to assist partner agencies and ensure the area was left safe.
As a result of the ongoing road closure, Bus Vannin says its services are being diverted from Ramsey, along Jurby Road to Ballacrye Road, to the Wildlife Park and back.
