Treasury looks for smooth transition
Shops on the Island will stop accepting the UK round pound coin in the new year.
From 28th February only the new UK 12-sided coin will be in circulation, although the Manx round pound will also remain in use on the Island.
The UK round pound ceased to be legal tender on 15th October this year.
Manx retailers are in the process of returning old coins to banks that are repatriating them back to the UK, and residents are asked to do the same.
It's enabling what Treasury describes as a 'smooth transition' to the new coin, as they are sorted, sent, and stocks replenished.
