The Island Games have attracted royal attention.
His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex is visiting the Isle of Wight.
During his two day trip he will meet athletes, sporting officials and volunteers involved in the sporting event, which was established on the Isle of Man in 1985.
Prince Edward also opened the 2001 games on the Island.
Sports editor Tim Glover says the royal visitor has a packed schedule.
