The Roads Policing Unit has described the festive period's drink-driving figures as 'really positive' so far.
As of this afternoon, nine people had been arrested, of which two had been charged, three bailed and four released.
The RPU says the figures are particularly good as its officers have increased high visibility patrols and aimed to be in the right place at the right time to deter drink drivers.
