Social media users call the move 'disrespectful'
Ramsey Town Commissioners say they are sorry for any offence caused after starting their Service of Remembrance early yesterday (Sunday 10 November).
The two-minute silence was said to have started in Parliament Square at around 10.50am instead of 11am.
Many have taken to social media to say they missed it as a result, calling the move 'disrespectful'.
Government House has confirmed to Manx Radio the Lieutenant Governor arrived at the requested time for the service in Ramsey and stayed for the duration of the event, including tea and a chat afterwards.
He had no other commitments, other than the National Service of Remembrance at 3pm in St. John’s.
In a statement, the commissioners have apologised and say the early start was 'unplanned'.
