LegCo unanimously vote against motion for RTLC committee
A move to transfer the Road Transport Licensing functions to the Office of Fair Trading, has failed to gain support in Tynwald.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas brought the motion to move the RTLC committee from the Department of Infrastructure into the OFT, as an independent body.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw called to adjourn the move, which was supported by a number of other members.
However MHKs and MLCs failed to agree and the motion to adjourn failed to carry.
The final vote on the original motion also saw disagreement in the branches.
MHKs voted in favour of the motion, 13 to ten. Legislative council however voted unanimously against the motion.
Mr Thomas has now called for a combined vote in October's sitting of Tynwald.
