'Watch your waste' is the message from the Energy from Waste Plant after rubbish caught fire there at the weekend.
A car battery is thought to have started material in the reception bay smouldering in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fire brigade was called as a precaution and the waste doused, but Jeffrey Robinson of plant operators SITA says the fire never threatened to escalate.
He is appealed for people to dispose of problematic waste properly, rather than sending everything to be incinerated (audio file attached):
