Manx Gas is apologising after it was forced to shut one lane of a busy road in central Douglas, to deal with a gas leak.
The emergency work is taking place in Bucks Road, between Tynwald Road and Christian Road, and the single file traffic is being controlled by traffic lights.
Manx Gas distribution manager Andy Bainton says the work may cause delays, particularly at peak times, and drivers should try to avoid the area.
It's thought the work will be completed tomorrow (Thursday), and there will be a further announcement if it takes any longer.
