A consultation on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people is 'incredibly important'.
That's the belief of Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas.
The Safeguarding Act 2018 (the Act), which received Royal Assent in April 2018, will, subject to the approval of Tynwald, come into effect in parallel with the underpinning Regulations and Statutory Guidance.
In the consultation, which was launched last week (16th Nov) the Cabinet Office is inviting comments on the Act and the 'Safeguarding Together' Statutory Guidance 2018.
Mr Thomas says safeguarding vulnerable people is a statutory duty.
