MHK wants certainty in safeguarding
A call to assess the Island’s safeguarding procedures will be made by an MHK next week.
Ayre and Michael member Tim Baker believes they may have been upgraded sufficiently in recent years but wants some certainty.
Mr Baker will also ask Tynwald to view, with concern, reports of historical child abuse at the former Knottfield Children’s Home.
He says it’s vital current procedures are adequate.
