Professionalism of Ian Cannell praised
A glowing tribute to the professionalism of the celebrated Tynwald Day commentator Ian Cannell has been made by his friend and colleague Bill Dale.
Ian Cannell who lived in Peel, died at the weekend at the age of 83.
He will be best remembered for his fluent and informed commentaries - for five decades on the Island's national day at St John's, but in other spheres too, including TT radio broadcasts, and royal visits.
Bill Dale gave the commentary at last year's Tynwald Day ceremony, having learned the ropes first-hand.
He says Ian's meticulous preparation and attention to detail were legendary:
