Volunteers to provide food for lonely and elderly
A charity will cater for over 50 lonely and elderly Manx people today (BOXING DAY) by hosting a special festive meal.
Volunteers from the Salvation Army will prepare a lunch to offer food, company, and care to those who may be alone over the festive period.
The supper forms only a small part of the organisation's work over Christmas - which also runs the Toy Appeal and gives out food vouchers to those in need.
Captain Carolyn Clampton says the meal can't go ahead without the dedication of volunteers:

Carers: 'They are often the quiet heroes of our Island'
Hooper: 'Time to bite the bullet and build new hospital'
'No final decisions' made yet about relocating dementia patients says Manx Care
'We want to provide a facility for almost anybody'
