Project due to start shortly
A major renovation project on Lord Street, Douglas is due to start shortly.
The Salvation Army's Citadel, which has stood since 1932, will be demolished and rebuilt in a modern style over two years.
It's estimated to cost up to £3 million, which will mainly come from within the charity's reserves.
Work will begin pending a contract agreement - planning permission was approved two months ago.
Staff and volunteers are currently in temporary residence at the old Fairfield Primary School.
Captain Simon Clampton says it comes at a time when demand is growing for the charity's services:
