Nearly 500 tonnes landed so far
Landings of Queen Scallops for week 5 of the 2024 season are well up on last year.
Figures produced by the Scallop Management Board show that 463.1 tonnes had been landed, representing 64% of the total allowable catch.
At the same point in the 2023 season vessels fishing for Queenies had brought ashore 325 tonnes - or 44% of the total permitted catch.
