Presenter Caz Graham spoke to fishermen, conservationists, government officers and even a chef about how all sides are working together to protect the stocks and ensure there is sustainable fishing into the future.
The Island's was described as leading the way with such policies in the British Isles
There are currently five marine protected areas with closed or restricted fishing, primarily for the enhancement of the scallop stocks.
The Port Erin closed area was established in 1989 and is recognised worldwide for its success.
