Reports of criminals posing as family members
Police say scammers have taken to messaging apps, in one of their latest tricks to con people out of money on the Island.
The force says there have been increasing reports of criminals posing as family members via the messaging service WhatsApp, often targeting unsuspecting parents of those studying at university.
Dectective inspector Gavin Callow told Manx Radio more about the latest trend in deception and said anyone who believes they might have been duped, should contact the police immediately:
