A detailed plan has been drawn up by education chiefs to deal with school closures if the Isle of Manis hit by snow and ice this winter.
Severe weather caused widespread disruption before Christmas last year, as heavy snow falls brought havoc to the roads and bus services, and forced schools to close.
A protocol for deciding what conditions will mean schools close, and the role of local media in alerting the public, has now been agreed.
Officials will consult the Met Office, Bus Vannin, the emergency services and the Department of Infrastructure to assess the situation before making a decision, by 7.45 in the morning.
