St Ninians launches consultation on plans
Pupils at a Douglas high school may soon spend an extra 10 minutes a day there as teachers consider changing its hours for the second time in five years.
In 2010, St Ninian’s High School changed its hours slightly to help accommodate the school bus service.
However, the school is now asking parents for their views on extending the day from 3.15pm to 3.25pm.
In a letter to parents, headteacher Andy Fox says the change would allow the school to work more closely with others, particularly Ballakermeen.
The school says its consultation period will run until Friday, July 10 and the responses will be published on the school’s website a week later.
Governors will then use the submissions to come to a decision on the proposal by late July.
Parents with queries can also attend a special open evening on Wednesday next week between 6pm and 7pm to ask any questions they may have.
