Education minister seeking £2m for Castle Rushen High School playing fields development
Investing in school sports facilities benefits education and the Isle of Man community.
That's according to Education, Sport and Culture Minister Dr Alex Allinson ahead of a Tynwald vote seeking more than £2m to fund the construction of new playing fields at Castle Rushen High School.
If given the go-ahead, the site would include four football pitches and a cricket pitch, with completion expected by 2022.
Dr Allinson says there are wide-reaching advantages to such amenities:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
Too early for 'direct action' over cost-of-living concerns says chief minister
Government gives assurance as inflation soars
