Parents to find out if schools will open or close by 7am
A decision on whether schools will open on Friday will be made tomorrow morning (10 March).
Government says it will decide on whether or not to open them by 7am tomorrow.
They were closed today due to predicted adverse weather; UCM and public counters were also shut.
A statement from government says: “These decisions are based on the current forecast of all-Island snow coverage during the evening and through the night tonight.
“The impact of this is difficult to predict, the final decisions will be made once the morning conditions have been assessed.
“We recognise that this changeable situation has resulted disruption to the public, and thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we respond to the information available to us.
“As conditions change this evening, and temperatures drop, please drive to the conditions.”
