Move to allow parents more time to get away
Schools across the Island, and University College Isle of Man, will break up for the Christmas holidays a day earlier than planned.
The end of term was due to be on Friday, 23 December but they'll now close on the Thursday instead.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture says the move follows feedback from parents and is aimed at allowing people an extra day to arrange travel for the festive period.
Minister Julie Edge says they hope, with Christmas falling on a Sunday, it will give parents the 'best possible chance to get away'.
The start of the new term in 2023 will still be Monday, 9 January.
