Scoill yn Jubilee headteacher to step down from September

Long-serving school leader confirms resignation, but future of his role at Kewaigue School remains unclear

The headteacher of Scoill yn Jubilee has announced he will step down from the role at the end of this academic year.

In a letter to parents and carers, Adrian Shorthouse confirmed his intention to resign in September 2025, describing his time at the school as "rewarding and inspiring."

He expresses pride in the school’s achievements and confidence in its future under new leadership.

Mr Shorthouse, who has been a headteacher for more than 16 years, has also served as executive head of Kewaigue School, for the past two and a half years.

It is not yet clear whether his resignation applies to Kewaigue School as well.

In his letter, Mr Shorthouse says he is committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will work closely with his successor to 'maintain the quality of education and care' at Scoill yn Jubilee.

Manx Radio has approached the Department of Education, Sport and Culture for comment.
