As it embarks on an historic move, the Scottish government has asked the Manx civil service for advice and feedback.
Sixteen year olds in Scotland will be eligible to vote in September's independence referendum after the Scottish National Party lowered the voting age for the ballot.
The Isle of Man became the first part of the British Isles to offer 16 and 17-year olds a vote in 2006.
