Banned from roads for one year
A Scottish solicitor has been fined £800 after admitting drink-driving over the Mountain Road.
John David Mair of Great Western Road in Glasgow pleaded guilty before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes this week.
The court heard other drivers had reported him driving badly in a silver Mercedes between Douglas and Ramsey just before 11.30pm on August 14
As well as swerving dangerously, he’d indicated to turn off the road before staying on it – and even turned off his headlights.
The court heard the 50 year old had shut his legal firm after being charged.
Mrs Hughes fined him £800 and banned him from the roads for a year, at which time he’ll have to pass an extended driving test.
