A bowel cancer screening programme is under way in the Isle of Man.
All residents aged between 60 and 69 will be checked every two years.
Bowel cancer is the third most common form of the disease in the developed world and about 25 people a year die from it on the Island.
Health Minister David Anderson says the launch of the screening programme shows health is a priority for the Manx government, and the move could have a significant effect on survival rates:
