The Isle of Man's film festival is opening this evening (Thursday), with a number of short productions.
The Arts Council's annual event kicks off at the Broadway Cinema with reels from local group Mannin Shorts and United Kigdom-based Future Shorts.
This weekend the Nunnery will host the 'Under the Stars' outdoor screenings in its grounds, with E.T. tomorrow and Sherlock Holmes on Saturday.
There is also an award ceremony on Saturday for the Young Filmmaker of Mann, and the best local short films.
Festival organiser Emma Callin says technology has really spurred on the Island's film community in recent years:
