Isle of Play warns of 'cataclysmic' effect on youngsters' wellbeing

Over-exposure to screens and online media is 'damaging' children's ability to play, according to a Manx charity.

New data in the UK has highlighted a drastic decline in outside play, with two thirds of parents saying their child plays outside for less time than their generation.

Despite there being no data specific to the Isle of Man, parents blamed 'stranger-danger' and traffic as reasons behind the slump.

Isle of Play's Chief Executive Chris Gregory and Play Worker Brooke Harrison warned social media will have a 'cataclysmic' impact on kids wellbeing:
