20% of applications determined by lay members
Government is searching for three people to join the Isle of Man’s Planning Committee.
Around 20 per cent of applications are determined by the committee – the rest are decided by senior planning officers.
Six lay members meet twice a month, in Douglas, to determine between 10 and 20 applications with members’ decisions impacting ‘lives and livelihood’.
The closing date for applications is 16 October – each member gets an allowance of £78 per session plus travel expenses.
