Man had just £6-worth of drug
A recovering heroin user caught with a tiny amount of the drug has been spared a return to jail.
Forty-four-year-old Michael David Nelson had just 38 miligrams of the Class A substance at his home in Demesne Road, Douglas, when it was discovered last October.
The court heard it had a street value of £6.36.
Nelson was jailed in 2014 for drugs offences, and subsequently released on licence.
Despite breaching his terms, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes gave him credit for the 'positive progress' he'd made elsewhere - having found independent accomodation and a permanent job as a labourer.
Nelson was handed 120 hours community service and ordered to pay £125 in costs.
