The second of four public meetings aimed at giving the public a chance to find out more about cutbacks to the Island's police force takes place this evening (Thurs 14th) at Castletown Civic Centre.
Restricted budgets mean the constabulary is having to close some local stations, reduce the overall number of officers and change the way it deals with some matters.
Whilst it's claimed the Island will still have a service which is fit for purpose, it's also stressed that the latest cuts have "pared it to the bone"
Monday's meeting covering the central district of Douglas, Onchan and Braddan was hailed as a success with some useful debate but was only attended by 18 people.
Speaking after Monday's meeting Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson said he will be interested to see how much interest there is in other areas
Tonight's meeting will get underway at 7pm and will include Port Erin, Port St Mary, Castletown, Malew, Santon, Arbory and Rushen.
Meetings for the Northern and Western neighbourhood policing areas will be arranged after the Festival of Motorcycling.
