Work expected to continue until January
A section of Peel promenade will be closed from today (21 September) until the end of January as part of the ongoing sewage treatment works in the west of the Island.
Manx Utilities will be installing a screen to remove sewage litter such as wet wipes and sanitary products from any emergency discharge during heavy rainfall.
While the work is carried out, Shore Road will be closed in front of the pumping station, reopening by 29 January 2027.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and diversions will be in place for motorists.
