The 2012 Senior TT has been cancelled!
It is the first time, world wars and the foot and mouth disease of 2001 aside, that the ‘blue riband’ race of the week has not been run since the inaugural TT in 1907.
Further mist and rain forced organisers to announce the decision, shortly after riders, including 19-time TT winner John McGuinness and Conor Cummins, completed a course inspection with the clerk of the course.
Rider liaison officer John Barton says it’s a massive disappointment but safety had to be a priority.
The 'Super Twins' Lightweight TT is running over the full three laps.
