Several people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a two-car accident near St John's at lunchtime today.
Crews from all three emergency services were at the scene, on the Poortown Road between Ballig Bridge and the Tynwald Mills road.
The accident happened just before 11am and police and fire crews have been investigating what happened.
The road remains closed and the public have been told to avoid the area until further notice (2.30pm).
