Functions must separate pleads Robertshaw
A report has highlighted 'serious failings' in the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture's role as both promoter and regulator of Manx produce.
It says these functions should be separated and has called on the Council of Ministers to consider the issue.
Manx Radio has contacted government for a response.
Douglas East MHK Chris Robertshaw is on the the Tynwald committee which has produced reports into DEFA's involvement in the dairy sector and the meat plant.
He says the issue captures fundamental flaws in the structure of government:
