Partial solar eclipse and Perseid meteor shower on the way
Isle of Man residents will have the chance to see two astronomical phenomena this evening (12 August).
A partial solar eclipse, which will block out 93 percent of the sun, is expected just after 6pm.
This will be followed by a Perseid meteor shower a few hours later which could display up to 100 shooting stars in an hour.
You can find out more HERE.
Astronomer Howard Parkin says the next total eclipse visible from the Island is due in 2151:
You must not look directly at the eclipse without certified safety glasses.
