Peel Commissioners were divided last night as they discussed the new sewage treatment plant in the Sunset City.
Despite widespread public opposition, board members were evenly split about whether to support the scheme, which would see an open works built near the power station.
Both sides put their views forward at the meeting but, in the end, the debate required the casting vote of the chairman, Rodger Gimbert, who voted against.
He explained how the voting went:
Police bail for two people arrested in Ramsey incident
Assisted Dying Bill still on track, says mover
Period Products Bill 'changed drastically' but core principles remain, says MHK
