Minister responds to criticism from UK peer
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says his department is more than aware of the concerns raised about shared space schemes and is addressing them.
Mr Gawne was responding to criticisms from UK peer Lord Holmes of Richmond, who claims such schemes are unsafe and avoided by a third of those people he surveyed.
The Department of Infrastructure’s plans would see horse trams, pedestrians, cyclists and motorists sharing the promenade with few or no road markings and safety features.
