Snaps show startling encounter
A local kayak instructor hopes his run-in with some basking sharks will inspire more people to visit the Isle of Man.
Keirron Tastagh was leading a group of tourists off the coast of Peel on Monday, when they found themselves being circled by seven of the imposing fish.
Basking sharks, which can grow up to 26 feet in length, are typically found in Manx waters during the summer season.
The group's close encounter has since been picked up on by the UK national press.
You can see the photos for yourself on Keirron's blog.
